The Midgets Turn 2!

Yesterday was Connor and Caitlin's second birthday, and the good news is, we have all survived! Sara was able to fly in and spend a long weekend here with us! And I appreciated all of her help! I don't know how we would've pulled off their birthday get together without her! And the kids really enjoyed having her here to help chase them around.
The birthday cakes:
I think it helps everyone remember that they are two totally different little people by getting them their own little cakes. Besides, it is easier the let them play in theirs while everyone eats a slice.

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Lynne gave the kids their Braves outfits! How adorable! Too bad the Braves lost and their season is finished!
They are well loved little kids, and were blessed with a lot of new toys, clothes and movies! And let's not forget the tricycles their Great Granddad saw and knew they had to have! They love them and have almost figured out the pedaling! Man! It's going to suck when they figure that out!
Thank you to everyone for your generosity! These two little people are so lucky to have so many people who love them and are in their lives! Thank you!!

Family Time in SLC!

As ya'll know, we were in Utah for vacation. We caught up with friends, met new family members and even caught a football game. I haven't been in RES since November 2004, when we beat BYU on our way to the Fiesta Bowl. I forgot how beautiful the U campus is.
The kids had all kinds of fun, meeting cousins their age, and catching up with their favorites, Ali and Brady. While we were there, the whole entire Blackburn family got together for a family picture. I can't remember the last one, it has been so long!
Yep, that is all of us! Finally all together!
We even had a picture of Sara, dad, mom and me taken. Last time we had our picture taken, our clothes clashed and gave you eye strain looking at it! Mom had said stripes, but didn't specify color, or direction!
And this is our first family picture! Aunt Sara had bought Connor and Caitlin a Special Agent Oso car earlier that day and Connor refused to go anywhere without his.
And here is a picture of Grandpa Pete and Grandma Charlotte with all the great grandkids.

I think my parents liked having their house invaded my noisy, messy little people. I am sure they will be finding stuff Connor and Caitlin hid around the house for the next 6 months. I apologize for the bananas!
We found a playground really close to their house and the midgets really enjoyed playing there. Look at he look of pure joy on their faces!

Connor tried to sneak back to the car, and Grandpa Gene chased him. I haven't seen my dad move so fast in ages!
Aunt Sara took the midgets to Build A Bear for an early birthday gift.
Connor wasn't exactly happy about the noise of the stuffing machine or the stranger that decided she needed to get in his face, but he finally settled on a puppy. He did pick out the football uniform, which is the right color!Caitlin had a hard time deciding on what to build! There were so many options! She finally choose a bear. She is adorable! Aunt Sara wanted to by her a princess costume, but Caitlin choose her outfit instead!
Their shoes, cleats and football are on their way here, we mistakenly left them in SLC.
Caitlin with her new favorite person in the whole wide world, her Aunt Salah! It is so funny to hear her say Aunt Sara! They both love their Aunt Sara very much!

Sunday Mornings

Sunday mornings find us driving out to have breakfast with Granddad Keever. He spoils them with all the fresh fruit, cheese biscuits, bacon, ans sausages they can eat. And he lets them play the piano to their hearts content.
This morning after everyone ate, we went outside and the kids helped in the garden. They were such big helpers! Caitlin loves picking tomatoes and okra, and Connor just loves running up and down the rows.

Here they are enjoying Great Grandma's swing.

Round Up the Posse!

It all started with a panda bear and Micky and Minnie. Now Connor and Caitlin must sleep with 4 stuffed animals every night. While that is not bad thing, it is exhausting keeping tabs on where everyone is. They (mostly Caitlin) bring them down in the morning, only to gathering them all up for naps, back downstairs, and finally back upstairs for the night. The addition of the ducks is new. It started this past Sunday. After we put them down for the night, she started calling "duck". Hey no problem, I saw one downstairs. But it wasn't the right one, dumb mommy, this one is blue. You should realize I wanted the pink duck. Aagh, so here I go tearing apart the van looking for it, because I think the last time I saw it 4 months ago was there. No pink duck. I tore apart downstairs looking for it. No pink duck. It was upstairs in their room in a drawer in the closet. Are you kidding me? How did she even remember she owned it? When I finally handed it to her, she settled down for the night.
Connor's entourage from left to right: Blue duck, gorilla, Mickey Mouse and the Panda Bear.
Caitlin's entourage from left to right: Pink Duck, Minnie Mouse, Lion and Panda Bear. And let's not forget the blanket. This is her favorite Night Night. You should see the fit when I have to take it from her to wash it!
Carefully sitting everyone down to watch Mickey and Minnie on TV.

Favorite Picture

I took this picture of the kids. They were having the time of their lives dancing on a bag of dog food.
Notice the nice bruise on Connor's fore head. Dude needs to quit banging his head on the floor! And if you look close enough, you may see a bruise on Caitlin's face. The little monkey took a header Friday afternoon and scared me to death! But I think we all learned a lesson! Who ever said twins get easier after the first year lied! I need to get them both toddler sized Sumo suits! or a bubble!

The Compromise Part 2

Connor loved pushing his sister in the doll stroller. And Caitlin loved pushing her brother around too! And pushing it together was great fun!
