Chatterboxes

So yesterday morning Connor made my morning, he looked at me and said Momma! And then he smile. Then yesterday afternoon, Caitlin said Momma! and kept saying it. So this talking thing is going to be a lot like the walking thing. Once one starts, the other must one up them. Last night Connor went up to Jayson, patted his knee and said Dadda! Everyone was clapping! I am expecting Caitlin to start this any time now.
This is Connor posing for the camera.
This is Caitlin trying to show us her stink eye.

The Stuffed Pig and the Hawk

Aunt Janet and Uncle Lou had given the kids a stuffed pig and rat and books for Connor and Caitlin's birthday. They love sitting there for a few seconds to hear the story. But this pig is well loved by both. It is so loved, it is allowed in Connor's favorite blue bowl.Nothing else is allowed in this bowl. He has cracked it, so I have to glue it back.
Plus this is the hawk that has been hanging out around the yard. I am going to blame him for the squished snake behind the rear driver's tire on the van. If he wasn't here hanging out waiting for a squirrel, the snake never wouldv'e tried coming in the house, but I ran over him first. Maybe the hawk sneaks in the house and hides my car keys and my phone!

Hats!

This picture is on our side bar, you may have noticed it. I think this is the funniest picture.
Caitlin loves to take the hat off of Jayson's head. It doesn't matter what hat it is, she likes to grab it and tries to wear it herself. She will actually walk around the house for a while with a hat on. Connor, well, he likes to rip them off as soon as you put one on his head. I was able to snap a quick picture of him wearing a hat before he ripped it off of his head.

And yes I know they are bare foot. I don't usually wear shoes around the house, and they don't either.

Christmas Card Pictures

One day I swear one of my ideas will work. Today is just not it. Our HOA has Santa swing by the first Sunday in December. I thought I'd take the kids and take their pictures for our Christmas cards. Yeah, it didn't work out. Connor was very vocal about his dislike, I have a bruise where he grabbed my arm. Caitlin, she just threw herself off his lap and onto her forehead. Other than that, they enjoyed themselves. They threw the ball into the tic-tac-toe board and were allowed to pick a toy. They enjoyed throwing the bean bags and knocking over the cans. They enjoyed mom and Becky putting together their bell necklaces. We met one of our neighbors who also has a set of boy-girl twins that they absolutely loved chasing around the club house!

Grandma Blackburn had sent the kids a singing snowman. Caitlin has learned where on his hand to push to get them started. Both seem to really like them. They like anything that sings and they can dance too.

Bright and Shiny Things

It has taken 3 days to get the Christmas tree up and decorated. When the kids woke up from their afternoon nap, I took the kids in to look and touch it. The tree has colored lights on it, but they were drawn to the red lights (I must be doing something right!)

I put a small tree by the front door. It is decorated with lights, colored garland and Pez dispensers.
The kids also like the dishwasher, which I do not understand. Personally, dishes are my least favorite chore around. But whatever tickles your fancy.
Watch, when they get older, it will be impossible to get them to help with the dishes.

Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We enjoyed hanging out with the Keever's at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Lynne's house.
Here is Caitlin with her new BFF Uncle Jeff.
And Uncle Jeff with a squirming Connor.
The kids enjoyed eating new foods, although they aren't so crazy about cranberries.

BURRRRR!

We braved the cold air here and everyone walked to the swings.

Our Trip to Texas

Caitlin with Uncle Josh
Connor with Uncle Josh
Connor with Papa Kip
Caitlin hanging on the kitchen island.

The view from Nancy and Kip's backyard. Yes it really is outside of civilization.
Otis and Caitlin. Otis loved himself some Caitlin. It seemed that he was glued to her side.

As the TCU team was running out onto the field, they have a bunch of kids run out onto the field on the sidelines with them. It was probably the coolest thing I have ever seen (except for the purple!).

Yes, More Red Clothing

My kids own and wear more Red clothing than I do.

I think red is a good color on them.

It Starts!

So while we were back in Utah a few months ago, Aunt Sara bought the kids play cell phones. I guess this is a sign of things to come. If it is, we are in for a world of hurt!
Connor has a favorite blanket. I keep it in the van next to his car seat. He has started grabbing it and holding it close to his face.

We will be in Dallas-Fort Worth for the TCU/Utah game! Go Utes! It will be the firs game I have been to since the Utes played in Louisville in 2007. I am looking forward to it!

Happy Halloween!

Well, they started walking this last Monday, I guess the good thing is they do everything together. Connor was first, Caitlin followed 20 minutes later. Getting a picture of them holding still is getting to be Mission Impossible. Here they are dressed up and walking around.

For their first real Halloween, they were dressed up like little monkeys. They weren't too fond of the costumes, I think they were getting too warm in them, and really, who would like a monkey face on your head? We drove out and had lunch with Great Granddad Keever - and made sure we had our picture taken with him.

They are not my little babies any more. We had to start using their big kid car seats.
So we watched "Finding Nemo" on our way out to Great Granddad's house. Actually, they looked at it a couple of times, me and Jayson listened to it. I am going to start playing the DVD on the virtual aquarium for them for the next bit, they don't follow story lines.
Anyway, we hope everyone had a great and safe Halloween!

PigTails!

Caitlin, that girl has a hot mess of hair! She was wearing pigtails today!
And Connor, well, he has his Granddad Gene's hairline.

1 Year Stats

We went to the pediatrician today.
Caitlin's stats:
30.5 inches tall (88.95% tile)
24lbs 5.5 ounces (91.85% tile)
18" head circumference (69.05% tile)

Jayson kept repeating BeattleJuice at her.

Connor's Stats:
31.5 inches tall (92.03% tile)
26lbs 9.5 oz (91.45% tile)
19" head circumference (92.47% tile)

Having a bigger head doesn't mean more brains Jayson!
Growing like weeds and hopefully will be taller!
I need for them to start walking on their own, they are getting too big for me to be carrying them together!
Next, we teach Caitlin to leave her clothes on!

Playing with New Toys

Connor and Caitlin were given so many new toys for their birthday, you'd think they wouldn't fight over them. Here she is trying to push Connor's hand off of the music table.

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Lynne gave the kids My Pal Scout and My Pal Violet.

Connor was playing with Scout this morning, Violet kinda startled Caitlin when it wished her a good morning by name! But she loves playing with Violet now. It plays her favorite songs!
