Getting Big!

I took the kids for their 30 month check up yesterday. WOW! 30 months! Man where did the time go?

Caitlin is 36 3/4 inches tall and weighs 32.6 lbs! Her head is still on the small side of average, but her hair more than makes up for it!

Connor is 36 1/4 inches tall and weighs in at 33.8 lbs! His head is still on the average side! It would have measured bigger, but I shaved his head the night before!

Both kids are talking up a storm! When Dr. Hill asked Caitlin if she would like a sticker for being such a good little patient she responded with " Well of course!" Like duh! Connor could only say "yea! Dr. Hill!" He knew he wasn't there for a shot! We are going to miss Dr. Hill and her smiling face!

Georgia on My Mind

In honor of our journey north, I thought I'd share some of the things I am going to miss here in Georgia.

First, I am going to miss the humidity. As strange as this sounds, I really enjoy August afternoon walks through the neighborhood when the temperatures are in the high 90's with high 90% humidity.
I am going to miss our house.
\\
When we first moved here, it was way too big for us, but when the midgets joined us and became mobile, it was nice to have the room downstairs for them to play.
I am going to miss the Mega Churches here.

This is Woodstock First Baptist Church and it is huge! They have a very nice playground for little people too! I don't have a picture of it, but I am going to miss the crosses draped in purple cloth that are out around Easter time! It is a beautiful sight to see!

I am going to miss all the Waffle Houses! Always two per exit!

Eating at a Waffle House should be on everyone's bucket list!
I am going to miss Zoo Atlanta. It has become one of my most favorite places to take the kids! We bought a membership and were able to visit once a week! We did buy a zoo membership to the Toronto Zoo, so the kids can see Polar Bears instead of Panda Bears.

I am going to miss the dogwood trees!

This is one of the many in our yard!

Snow Day 2011!!

It may not seem like a lot of snow, but the 5 inches of snow that fell here Sunday night into Monday morning was enough to close the city of Atlanta down! And with us moving to Canada in the next few months, this was a great time to get the kids used to the snow! They seemed to really enjoy it!

Miss Becky pushing the kids down the driveway!
WEE! That was fun! Let's do it again!
 Me and the midgets!
We walked across the street to say hello to Miss Becky, our other neighbor Miss Alea and her son John brought over their sleds for the kids to slide down Miss Becky's steep driveway! They had so much fun! they were sliding down the driveway, across the street and half way through our yard! Once Miss Becky's driveway turned to a sheet of ice, we moved through her back yard and onto the golf course!

Notre Dame!

For my birthday this year Jayson treated me to my first weekend away from the midgets. I missed my little people so so much, but I had a great time in Chicago.
View from our hotel room at te Hard Rock Hotel 20 floors up!

Looking up to the Hancock Building
Looking down from the 96th floor

The Notre Dame Campus
This is why he is called Touch Down Jesus. I took this from our seats and it looks like he is signaling a TD!

Frisbee Dogs!

A few weeks ago Jayson and Jeff had run a 10k up in Cartersville Georgia and noticed the Frisbee Dog competition was this past weekend. So we bundled the kids up and took them for a jeep ride. They absolutely love going for rides in the jeep!
This is one of the most beautiful German Shepherds I had ever seen! And he did an awesome job! He caught some long bombs thrown!
Here we are watching on the sidelines and cheering the dogs on!
Caitlin really loves dogs, I mean she wants to pet and kiss each and every dog she shes! Sometimes that makes our walks tough! So I think she really enjoyed herself.
After we got home and the kids had taken their nap, they were playing on our back deck. We decided to put their bubble machine out there where they can play with it whenever they like. Connor is starting to yell "CHEESE!" when he sees you taking pictures. And he actually smiles with his eyes open!
While we were at the Frisbee Dog, we walked past a booth and someone had asked us if the kids would like a coloring book and a t shirt! The t shirt is too big, but hey liked it and they loved their coloring books! Here they are coloring while I made dinner!

The Midgets Turn 2!

Yesterday was Connor and Caitlin's second birthday, and the good news is, we have all survived! Sara was able to fly in and spend a long weekend here with us! And I appreciated all of her help! I don't know how we would've pulled off their birthday get together without her! And the kids really enjoyed having her here to help chase them around.
The birthday cakes:
I think it helps everyone remember that they are two totally different little people by getting them their own little cakes. Besides, it is easier the let them play in theirs while everyone eats a slice.

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Lynne gave the kids their Braves outfits! How adorable! Too bad the Braves lost and their season is finished!
They are well loved little kids, and were blessed with a lot of new toys, clothes and movies! And let's not forget the tricycles their Great Granddad saw and knew they had to have! They love them and have almost figured out the pedaling! Man! It's going to suck when they figure that out!
Thank you to everyone for your generosity! These two little people are so lucky to have so many people who love them and are in their lives! Thank you!!
